Our Lake Serves Kindness Day event celebrated all the work Our Lady of the Lake students have done this year to help those in need in our community. Throughout this year, we have made over 1000 sandwiches for those fed by St. John’s Soup Kitchen. We participated in Verona Fights hunger and donated food for our neighbors. We provided nearly 500 pairs of socks to Holy Trinity Food Pantry. We have made 600 Christmas and Valentine’s cards for The West Caldwell Care Center and the Summit Ridge Nursing Homes as well as to the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell. Approximately 40 children sang Christmas carols to the residents of two nursing homes. We raised over $1,000 for Table the Table to feed the hungry. During Friday’s event, in addition to making sandwiches, we celebrated the children’s goodness! We chalked messages of kindness on the blacktop and ended with a treat from the ice cream truck from the Towne Scoop.
