HSA

Home and School Association

Our HSA strives to form and maintain a strong partnership among faculty, children, and parents, which will furnish the necessary support to enable Our Lady of the Lake School to remain an excellent Catholic learning institution.  The association seeks to promote the full and harmonious development of the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, morally, and physically.

Fall, 2019

Dear Our Lady of the Lake Community,

As we begin this academic year, I would like to take a moment to thank you for choosing OLL.  I am looking forward to working with the HSA this year. We have a small but passionate Board.  We hope to strengthen our community and continue the work to make OLL a loving home away from home for our children.

As you know, it takes a village. We will surely be relying on your help throughout the year. We hope to decrease the number of fundraisers we conduct yet increase their effect. Whatever your talent, please know that we will use it if you share it! I value the sacrifices you are all making to send your children to school here and I value all the time you spend/will spend here.

Our HSA Board hopes that we can support not just the best education but the best experience s a Catholic School can offer through offering opportunities for community service, extracurricular activities, and community events.

By way of introduction, our family joined the OLL community in 2017. Our son Benjamin is in grade 4, daughter Mariella in grade 2, daughter Anna in Kindergarten, and we have a one-year-old daughter, Grace. We have been given so much and look forward to doing our part to give back. I’ve worked in higher education as the Director of the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) at Seton Hall University for more than 15 years and what I can tell you is that right now is important for your child. These formative years make a difference in how our children are molded, how they make decisions, how and what they communicate, and what they believe matters. I am happy to be here, at Our Lady of the Lake, with you for this time.  What we are doing here is different and it matters; let’s work together to celebrate and live out why we’re here: to know and serve God and to know and serve our neighbor.

Warm regards,

Michelle Peterson
