About Girl Scouts
The mission: "To build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place."
Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent organization dedicated soley to girls - all girls - where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives.
At Our Lady of the Lake School we have a growing and vibrant Girl Scout Community. We currently have second grade Brownie and a fifth grade Junior troop. Our girl scouts participate in a variety of activities including field trips, community service projects, and arts and crafts. Older girl scouts also are involved in mentoring younger scouts.
Here both Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts work on their Stay Fit badge with the guidance of Ms. Kitty White, OLL Physical Education teacher. The girls worked through a series of five separate activities which taught them about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the importance of keeping physically fit.
