Fourth grade students were treated to a lesson in why many families in South-Asia celebrate The Festival of Lights, or Diwali.
Mrs. Patel, a class parent, took time to retell the cultural lore and message behind the annual celebration each November of this celebration of life, goodness, reflection, giving and forgiveness.
This holiday is celebrated by many Indian Hindu people around the globe and is a celebration of the goodness afforded to those whose actions are in keeping with the principles of goodness, knowledge, health, ethical discipline, efficiency in work and spiritual advancement.
Students decorated clay bowls as an expression to commemorate the festivity of the season.
Thank you Mrs. Patel for a wonderful presentation and all the time and effort you put into developing the project and learning experience for our children.
